Push Them Back

Jay Shri Raam. Namaste and Greetings, dear reader. This site is to equip you to Push Them Back, effectively. So who're "Them"? Read on below.

If a christian or a muslim individual approaches you with questions about Hinduism, be careful! If loud alarm bells do not ring and large red flags do not pop up in your brain, they should. Because, in approaching you in this way, more times than not, the christian or the muslim individual aims to get you to quit Hinduism and accept christianity or islam as your religion.

This will entail your disowning (and he or she will likely try hard to get you to disown) and possibly hating your parents and other ancestors, your background so far, your culture so far and a sizeable number of your friends, relatives, acquaintances and associates.

Those christian and muslim individuals are the "Them" referred to above – the ENEMY. Make no mistake – they indeed are YOUR enemy, posing as your friends. It is THEM whom you must PUSH BACK, drawing upon your knowledge of Hinduism.

In this website, I will cite examples of what they say, how they say it and why they say it. I will then show where, in their mischief, they err. And I will try to equip you with some fundamental knowledge about Hinduism.

To save yourself from these predators, you need to have both of the following: (a) self-awareness and (b) enemy-awareness.

  • Self-awareness – What are Hindu beliefs, values and practices? Why do we Hindu have such beliefs, values and practices? What is our history? And so on. This is our – and YOUR, gentle reader, YOUR – glorious cultural identity, as a Hindu individual. As a Hindu, you have a precious, nurturing and nourishing identity which the enemy will try to snatch away from you, to his or her utmost ability, by deceit, bribery or even violence (which may not be restricted to physical violence but include psychological violence like blackmail).

  • Enemy-awareness: What are the enemy's beliefs, values and practices? What drives him or her? What is the enemy's history? And so on.

Please use the links on the red menu bar at the top of the page to learn more.

The bottomline is as follows:

  1. Self-awareness – As a Hindu, you are already part of a great culture, having a wonderful heritage that teaches you to be a GOOD human being.

  2. Self-awareness – As a Hindu, you have Hindu beliefs and a Hindu identity. They are private and personal to you. You are not going to someone else and trying to convert him or her to your belief system. Therefore, while you are at liberty to study and reflect upon them for yourself, they are not up for public scruitiny or discussion.

  3. Enemy-awareness – They will scruitinise your private and personal beliefs and discredit (or try to discredit) them. They have no right to do so, nor are you under any obligation to explain or justify your private and personal beliefs to them.

  4. Enemy-awareness – They will tell you that their belief system is better than yours. That's nonsense, because (a) they do not really know your belief system, so are in no position to compare and (b) your belief system—our Hindu belief system—teaches goodness; that's already 100%, so how can any percentage exceed 100%?

  5. Enemy-awareness – Just as you have the right to scrutinise a product if a salesperson tries to sell it to you, so also you have the right to scrutinise their belief system, since they have come to you to sell you their system. (But they do not have the right to scrutinise yours, because you are not selling your system to them.)

Do be sure to visit this site every now and again, for I intend to make this a living site, with fresh material added as life and time will permit me. I do have a busy life keeping the wolf from the door but it will be my great pleasure to share what little knowledge and wisdom I have gathered on this vital subject over the seventy years I have spent on this beautiful planet. So, watch this space, and keep checking in frequently!
